Volunteer opportunities

Our community pulling together to get things done

We offer a wide range of activities to get involved with.

When you sign up we match the tasks to your interests and fitness levels to make sure that what ever you're doing, will be confident and comfortable.

Most of our work revolves around the reintroduction of native species to the mountain, for example North Island Robin and Kōkako.

We do all kinds of activities to achieve this, but here are some of the things we get up to:

  • Bait station filling;

  • Rat population level monitoring using tracking tunnels;

  • Mustelid trapping

  • Native bat, vegetation and bird monitoring;

  • Kōkako nest monitoring

  • Native planting and releasing;

  • Envirocentre project in Pirongia Village;

  • Environmental education and advocacy.
